Restoration 

Carex secta stabilizes stream banks to prevent erosion, improves water quality by decreasing farm sediment concentrations reaching the water bodies and helps to shade water surface and prevent algae formation. All in all, there’s not many arguments against the use of this illustrious species.  

Care 

Loves water. Doesn’t mind having completely waterlogged roots and full sun exposure. It will help to give it plenty of room from invasive species known to outcompete Carex such as Willow, Blackberry and Broom.
